  • True Meaning of the Resolution of Grievances for Mutual Beneficence (Haewon Sangsaeng)

The Great Creator and Supreme God of the Ninth Heaven, Kang Jeungsan Sangje (Gucheon Sangje), came to the Republic of Korea 154 years ago and changed the Former World’s principle of mutual conflict (Sanggeuk) energy of the universe into the Later World’s principle of mutual beneficence (Sangsaeng) energy. This is summarized as the ‘Reordering Work of Heaven and Earth (Cheonji Gongsa).’
The people of the globe are currently meeting the autumn season of the universe, and He is leading humanity into the world of the Later World’s Great Renewal (Hucheon Gaebyeok) through Haewon Sangsaeng so that all life may achieve fruition and completion.
To explain Haewon Sangsaeng, the core ideology of the Daesoon Truth (Daesoon Jinri), in more detail, the universe is composed simply of energy. This energy is referred to in other terms as Giun (기운, spiritual force), and it is said that Gi (energy) is Shin (God, 神)—meaning the universe is filled with Shin.
The human body is also created by receiving the Giun of Heaven and Earth; the spirit is created through the Giun of Heaven, and the physical body is created through the Giun of Earth. Therefore, humankind is called a “microcosmic entity” (So-Uju-che).
Daesoon Jinrihoe does not merely remain on a religious dimension, but is a place where we undertake the cultivation work (Sudo Gongbu) with the purpose of achieving human perfection.
The Sudo Gongbu (cultivation work) is the process of changing the Sanggeuk energy, which is the karma (Eopjang) of humanity, into Sangsaeng energy. This allows one to resolve their individual geopek (calamities) and eopbo (karma), leading to the dissolution of the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death, achieving limitless longevity, and ultimately transforming into an immortal male or female (Seonnyeo) who has attained the status of a fully realized Spiritual Enlightenment in the Dao (Dotong Gunja). Sangje presented the cosmic law of Haewon Sangsaeng for this purpose.
The people of the globe are currently facing the turning point of the Later World’s Great Renewal. The essential causes of poverty, disease, war, violence, and various abnormal weather phenomena that humanity is experiencing today are manifestations of the Former World’s Sanggeuk energy of the universe—that is, the grievances of the gods (Shin) acting upon human beings and things.
Kang Jeungsan Sangje reorganized the world, which had been fractured by this Former World Sanggeuk, and established a new “Earthly Paradise World of the Later World.”
When one realizes the true meaning of Gucheon Sangje’s teachings and resolves the body and mind born with individual geopek through the law of Haewon Sangsaeng, they can escape the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death, realize limitless longevity, and ultimately become immortal males and females who never age or die.
Only by practicing the spiritual cultivation (Sudo) of polishing the mind—changing the geopek (killing energy, hostile energy) of Sanggeuk, which is latent in one’s body and mind, into Sangsaeng (Shin-Giun)—can one peacefully welcome the coming Later World civilization.
That is to say, the Sanggeuk Giun of the Former World, such as desire, greed, complaint, dissatisfaction, distrust, self-respect (arrogance), conceit, obstinacy, and stubbornness, are integrated with our individual temperaments, but we live mostly unaware of them. If this Sanggeuk Giun remains, it will not align with the incoming Sangsaeng Giun of the Later World, causing great suffering.
Sangje referred to this suffering as 'Byeonggeop' (the great plague) and said that the Byeonggeop would surge upon the Earth like a flood.
Our humanity must prepare for the coming Later World.
  • True Meaning of Haewon-sangsaeng and Boeun-sangsaeng

Religion focuses on salvation after death. However, Daesoon Truth focuses on bringing about gradual and specific changes not only to ourselves but also to our surrounding reality.
Sangje performed the Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth through principles outside our world, meaning the Work was for the spirit world, not the human world. Through this Work, Sangje, with His authority and ability, brought about change to Heaven and Earth. However, people must resolve their own karmic obstacles by cultivating the expansion of their minds and temperaments (修心鍊性) while cleaning and refining their energy and essence (洗氣煉質). Sangje thus performed the Reordering Work to allow spirits (Divine Beings) to enter and exit the human mind through spiritual cultivation, thereby fixing one's disposition and character.
However, one’s mind is not limited to one's own self. As it is said in the Jeon-gyeong (the Cononical Scripture), Hyeonmu-gyeong, “The center of Heaven and Earth is the human mind” (Gyoun 1:66) and “The usage of Heaven, the usage of Earth, and the usage of humanity are all encompassed in the mind” (Haengrok 3:44). These verses show that the human mind is the center of the universe and is connected to the cosmos. Therefore, humans are connected to all phenomena, both in form and formless, which transcend space and time on both microscopic and macroscopic levels.
Due to the mutual contention of the Former World (Seon Cheon), grievances and grudges have accumulated in Heaven and Earth. These grudges also lie dormant in every cell within the human body—the microcosm—and are connected to the macroscopic universe (Heaven and Earth). Since the micro and macro worlds are related like Yin and Yang, as one cultivates one’s mind and achieves Mutual Beneficence through the Resolution of Grievances, the universe will also transition into the state of Mutual Beneficence.
Hence, through this principle, Sangje performed the Reordering Work for the great opening of the Later World (Earthly Paradise). He arranged it so that all grievances and grudges in Heaven and Earth could be resolved through the human mind.
Therefore, we must realize that all antagonistic spirits bearing grievances—incurred throughout countless reincarnations from the beginning of time and through our relationship with nature (all beings that transcend space and time in the micro and macro worlds)—lie dormant in people’s minds and bodies, and are connected to the universe. When one realizes this, believes that Sangje descended as a grievance-resolving God, and dedicates oneself to resolving these grievances, the spirits of contention that have influenced one’s body since the Former World will be resolved, transforming the energy of Mutual Contention into that of Mutual Beneficence. This is called Gae Byeok (the Great Opening).
When this is achieved, the universe and nature will undergo this great opening (Gae Byeok). All the walls (the 108 dimensions of space) that have blocked the Former World will become one, and the Later World will unfold. To accomplish this, Sangje personally incarnated and carried out the Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth for nine years. Now, His Reordering Work is being realized through humanity. This is what Sangje meant by, “That which is planned by Heaven is carried out by Humankind” (謀事在天成事在人). Therefore, it is important that humanity realizes and consciously resolves these issues.
When we realize and consciously acknowledge that Sangje resides within our heart and that we are within His body, and then dedicate ourselves to resolution, this can truly be seen as a Repayment of Grace. This is the comfort we can bring to Sangje.
