The short film ‘Apgureugi (Rolling Forward),’ directed by Kim Jeong-yeon, a film major from the Theater and Cinema Department at Daejin University, won the first prize in the drama category at the 9th Beijing International University Short Film Festival Awards Ceremony.
The Beijing International College Student Short Film Festival is an influential short film festival in China, and the film ‘Apgureugi (Rolling Forward),’ is a coming-of-age story that centers around the process of change undergone by the protagonist, Yun-ju, as she overcomes a traumatic experience.
The student, Kim Jeong-Yeon, gave a short statement wherein she reflected, “I am really happy and grateful that this film, which was completed thanks to the help of many, was recognized for an award. I will not lose my passion for filmmaking in the future.”
