On November 4th, Daejin University's
Department of Nursing held the 7th Nightingale Oath Ceremony.
At the oath ceremony held at the international conference hall on the 6th floor of the Central Library, 78 students lit candles in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Kim Ki-hyeon and professors of nursing, and pledged to carry out righteous and devoted nursing activities in imitation of the noble spirit of Florence Nightingale.
At the oath ceremony, Dean of the Department of Nursing, Kang Jeonghee, said, “We take pride in having achieved a 100% success rate on the national exam each year ever since our department’s establishment in 2014, and we will our best to nurture future nightingales with strong hearts and cold intelligence.”
The Nightingale Oath is an important event wherein nursing students make a commitment to fulfill their beliefs, values, and duties as nurses after completing basic nursing classes and before going to practice in a hospital setting.
