Bundang Jesaeng Hospital’s intensive care unit 3, which started operation on January 24, is an intensive care unit dedicated to infectious diseases that meets the standards of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This care unit is equipped with facilities, personnel, and patient management all focused on the best infection control possible.

The intensive care unit has 7 beds, and these are single beds. In particular, the unit introduces the latest equipment, such as a ventilator, high-flow oxygen therapy device, and a continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) which is necessary for dialysis patients. All of this equipment had been deemed essential for the treatment of critically ill patients.

Director Jeong Yun-cheol said, “I am glad to be able to participate in saving critically ill patients with infectious diseases during this difficult pandemic being experienced around the world.” In addition, he received a plaque of appreciation from Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom for his contribution toward Korea’s overcoming COVID-19.
