On June 28, the Japanese religious organization Oomoto (大本) visited the Yeoju Headquarters Temple of Daesoon Jinrihoe.
The delegation consisted of Yuta Yamada, Director of the General Affairs Department of Oomoto, and Hiromi Yano, Advisor for International Affairs to the Mayor of Kameoka City—located in the central-western region of Kyoto Prefecture. After arriving in Korea on June 27, the delegation visited Daejin University before traveling to the Yeoju Headquarters Temple on the 28th, where they toured the temple’s eco-friendly farming system and held a meeting with President Yun Eundo.
The purpose of the visit, as stated by the Oomoto representatives, was to promote youth exchange between the two religious organizations. They also expressed great interest in the temple’s environmentally friendly agricultural practices. During the meeting, Yuta Yamada noted, “Agriculture in Japan is currently facing a crisis. Due to increasing pests, the use of pesticides has risen, yet crop yields continue to decline, which is a serious concern.” He added that he wished to learn from and help introduce the Yeoju Headquarters Temple’s eco-friendly cultivation system to a wider global audience.
In response, President Yun Eundo said, “We will positively consider initiatives such as youth exchanges between our organizations and the sharing of eco-friendly cultivation methods.”
