  • 2017-02-11
  • The sheaf burning event was held at Yeoju Headquarters Temple on February 11 when the moon rose (6:24pm). Around one thousands of followers and Yeoju citizens participated to celebrate the New Year (Jeongyu Year) and made wishes upon the burning sheaves. During this celebration, the Daesoon Hanmadang Pungmul crew prayed for peace, good harvest and blessings to reign on each household through stepping on the spirit of the Earth. Unlike last year's celebration, this year's celebration has left an impressive memory to the participants through fireworks. The moon symbolizes prosperity, and fireworks as a purifier of every corruption and evil. Yeoju Headquarters Temple has held a sheaf event annually for harmony and well-being of its devotees and Yeoju citizens.
