Dr. Jong-Hyuk Park, a neurosurgeon at the Spine Center of Bundang Jesaeng Hospital (Hospital Director: Hwa-Yeop Na), has been awarded the prestigious Clinical Research Award for his study on developing a prediction system for clinical outcomes following lumbar spine surgery.

Dr. Park received the 'Wilson & Clinical Basic Research Award' at the joint conference of ASIA SPINE & NSC 2025—held in September 2025—which integrated 'ASIA SPINE 2025','Neurospine 2025', and the 39th Annual Meeting of the Korean Spinal Neurosurgery Society.

The award-winning paper focuses on developing a system that predicts symptomatic improvement following lumbar fusion surgery by analyzing patient factors such as osteoporosis, age, underlying health conditions, and preoperative mobility. Based on an analysis of pre- and postoperative outcomes from 600 patients who underwent lumbar fusion surgery at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, the study provides valuable clinical insights for predicting patient recovery trajectories.
