Professor Yu Mu-young's Research Lab (Smart Construction Information Lab) in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Daejin University (President Chang Suk-hwan) and the research team at Vendit Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Lee Jae-seung and Lee Jun-gyu, R&D Director Yu Seong-geun) were final selected for the "2026 Public-Private Joint Technology Commercialization R&D (TRL Jump-Up Phase 1)" project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

This initiative is an industry-academy-research joint R&D project designed to support the enhancement of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and the verification of commercialization potential for promising technologies in national strategic technology sectors. The Phase 1 project will receive 100 million KRW in funding over 9 months, with the opportunity for up to an additional 1 billion KRW over two years in the subsequent commercialization R&D phase. The research team completed the project agreement on June 16, 2026, officially entering the full-scale research, development, and commercialization verification stage.

The research team plans to develop an integrated platform combining smart mask-based communication, location tracking, and safety management technologies for disaster situations.

Meanwhile, two research papers were published in the June issue of the Journal of the Architectural Institute of Korea: a study by Master's student Park Ha-jun on improving registration accuracy by applying editing and registration techniques by space type in the indoor Scan-to-BIM process, and a study by Master's student Lee Si-hyun on measures to improve productivity and operational efficiency in modular construction manufacturing processes using a spatiotemporal state transition-based prediction and simulation framework.
