Daejin University (President Jang Seok-hwan) Department of Acting Arts participated in the 'Running Donation Challenge,' a side program of the 34th Young Theater Festival, and won the 'Woori Social Contribution Award.'

The Running Donation Challenge is a social contribution program where participants run a course of their choice—3 km, 5 km, or 10 km—and contribute to donations. It was conducted in a manner where 1,000 KRW in donation funds was accumulated for every 1 km completed by a participant. The entire amount raised through the challenge will be delivered to the Korea Theater Persons Welfare Foundation under the names of all donors and used to improve the welfare of theater artists. Participants promoted their health through running while contributing to mutual prosperity and sharing in the performing arts industry.

Professor Hwang Yeon-hee of the Department of Acting Arts at Daejin University said, "It is meaningful that students stood in solidarity with on-site theater artists through running and plogging and directly practiced the value of sharing," adding, "We will continue social contribution activities connected with our major in the future."

This award is even more meaningful as a performance in which Daejin University's Department of Acting Arts went beyond performance production and artistic activities to practice social service and responsibility, contributing to the spread of a culture of sharing in solidarity with theater artists.
