Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, led by Hospital Director Son Jeong-hwan, introduced the da Vinci SP single-port robotic surgical system on August 21 and began full-scale operations. With the addition of this system, the hospital now operates two types of robotic surgery platforms, alongside the Revo-i system introduced in 2024. This enables the hospital to select the most appropriate robotic surgical approach based on each patient’s condition and the surgical site. The da Vinci SP is a minimally invasive surgical system that uses a single small incision to insert a camera and surgical instruments, helping reduce scarring, pain, and bleeding while promoting faster recovery.

From its opening through July 2026, Bundang Jesaeng Hospital performed a total of 236,044 surgeries across departments including general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and urology. The hospital has also accumulated experience in robotic surgery, including successfully performing the world’s first ureteral reconstruction using the Revo-i system. Hospital Director Son Jeong-hwan stated, “With the introduction of the da Vinci SP, we will provide minimally invasive treatments tailored to each patient’s condition, contributing to faster recovery and an improved quality of life.”
