Daesoon Jinrihoe held the first full moon Chiseong (the devotional offering), with about 6,200 people participating, at Yeoju headquarters temple complex at 1:00 am on March 2nd (the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar calendar). The first full moon day of the lunar year is as important as Lunar New Year's Day and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) are both Korean seasonal customs.
Particularly, this day imbued with even more meaning for disciples because on the same day in 1919, Doju received a sealed letter from Sangje's younger sister, Madam Seondol. The letter had been written by Sangje in His living years and is regarded as proof that Doju is the rightful successor of the religious orthodoxy. On this day, the disciples revive the meaning of the orthodox religious authority and attend this Chiseong with reverence.
