On April 18 2018 in a rice field within Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex near Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation, about 150 people including the guard team executives participated in the work of preparing rice seedling plots. In order to enable the germinated rice seeds to easily take roots in the soil, they first laid a net over the plots, placed a seedbed on it, and stepped onto the plot evenly. Then, they covered the plots with a non-woven fabric to facilitate warmth and finished their work as they prayed for an abundant harvest.

 The work of preparing rice seedling plots is the first step of yearly farming. Before preparing the plots, the seedbeds were arranged in seedling boxes and left for 4-5 days to allow the seeds to germinate. After the seeds have germinated, they are then sown into the seedling plots after which they grow into young rice plants within 40 days. This work of preparing seedling plots is regarded as the hardest and most important work of the year, as people say the work of growing of rice seedlings itself is half of yearly farming.
