- 2019-01-15
On September 30, a gosa* was carried out to announce the resumption of the construction of Go-seong Jaeseang Hospital in Gangwon Province, at 9:30 am. This gosa was attended by more than 1,000 devotees from the Goseong Jaeseang Hospital (located in Bongpori, Tosung-myoen, Korea). The groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 12, 2000, and the construction resumed in 13 years after the exterior of the main building was completed in September 2005.
The size of the hospital is 13,600 pyeong, including 3 underground floors and 11 floors above the ground. The hospital will be equipped with 22 hospital beds, 9 medical clinics, and 500 inpatient beds. When the large-scale general hospital is completed, medical services in areas such as Gangwon-do, Sokcho, Goseong, and Yangyang are expected to improve even further.
*Gosa: shamanistic ritual in which food is offered to the spirits in order to avoid misfortune and bring good luck.
