“To prioritize the implementation of the Three Major Works,
establish an annual budget allocating a maximum proportion (up to 70%),
and utilize it systematically and in an organized manner.”
“Extend compassion to those who are easily neglected and devote effort to relief
and charity work to instill the joy of rehabilitation.”
The Relief and Charity Work is the act of providing assistance to victims of disasters and helping the underprivileged. Based on the teachings of Dojeon, who instructed, "Extend compassion to those who are easily neglected and devote effort to relief and charity work to instill the joy of rehabilitation," Daesoon Jinrihoe has been carrying out various relief and charity activities since its establishment.
Since the formation of the Daesoon Youth Association and Women's Association in 1980, we have consistently carried out activities such as helping the underprivileged, supporting physically disabled individuals, assisting children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and providing coal support to low-income families. We have also actively participated in relief efforts for disaster victims caused by typhoons, floods, and other natural disasters every year. In 2009, overseas relief activities, including well-digging and distributing relief supplies, were conducted in Kenya and Ethiopia.
In 2013, the Daesoon International Volunteer Association (DIVA) was established. Since then, domestic activities have included delivering meals to elderly people living alone, performing home repairs such as wallpaper and floor replacement, providing heating oil and medical supplies to disadvantaged groups, and assisting with disaster recovery efforts. Internationally, the association has expanded its activities to include donating essential items to nursing homes, orphanages, and childcare centers in countries such as Mongolia and Vietnam, as well as organizing volunteer services for building homes for families with disabled members.
