- The Daesoon Academy of Sciences Hosts the 3rd Joint Academic Conference with the Institute of Asian Religious Studies
On May 31st, the 3rd Joint Academic Conference, co-hosted by the Daesoon Academy of Sciences (Chairman Bae Kyu-Han ) and the Institute of Asian Religious Studies (Director Yoon Yong-bok), was held at the International Conference Room in the Daejin Education Building of Daejin University. The theme of the conference was "Conflict, Reconciliation, and Religious Studies." Renowned scholars from Korea and abroad attended the event, including Professor Choi Jong-seong from Seoul National University, Professors Cho Hyun-bum and Han Seung-hoon from the Academy of Korean Studies, and Professor Furuta Tomidate from Tezukayama Gakuin University. A total of nine research papers were presented at the conference. Deep discussions were held on a wide range of topics covering both the past and present, such as Professor Cha Sun-geun’s (Daejin University) paper, "Religious Perspectives on Korea-Japan Conflicts at the Boundary of Grudges and Reconciliation," which received a great response from the participating researchers. In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Bae Kyu-Han stated, "In the context of East Asia, where diverse religious traditions and belief systems intersect, religion sometimes acts as a mechanism for division. However, it is simultaneously a powerful ethical source for healing, reconciliation, the realization of the common good, and mutual beneficence (Sangsaeng)." He added, "I hope that today’s discussions will provide constructive inspiration not only to the domestic and international religious studies communities but also to our society as a whole."

- Delegation from Kimyo International University Visits the Yeoju Headquarters Temple of Daesoon Jinrihoe
On May 20, a delegation from Kimyo International University, led by Vakhabov Alisher Vasikovich, Chairman of the Board, and Akramov Ilkhom Rustamovich, Director of the Office of International Relations, visited the Yeoju Headquarters Temple of Daesoon Jinrihoe. The delegation was accompanied by Kwon Ho, Vice President for External Affairs of Daejin University, along with members of the university’s International Exchange Team. Kimyo International University stated that the visit was made with the aim of realizing concrete international exchange initiatives between Daejin University and Kimyo International University in order to foster globally competent human resources. The central focus of the discussion was the proposed “2+2” academic exchange program. Under this framework, students from both universities would complete two years of study at Daejin University and two years at Kimyo International University, enabling them to earn dual bachelor’s degrees. In addition, the program would allow students to pursue master’s and doctoral degree programs through continued academic collaboration between the two institutions.

- Delegation Led by the Chairman of Maktab Schools of Uzbekistan Visits Yeoju Headquarters Temple
On May 8, YuksaliSH, Chairman of the Maktab Schools of Uzbekistan, along with five school principals and a delegation of approximately ten members, visited the Yeoju Headquarters Temple. The delegation stated that the purpose of their visit was to discuss student exchange programs with Daejin University, the recruitment of international students between the two institutions, and cooperation related to the NGO activities of the Daesoon International Volunteer Association (DIVA). The delegation first toured the Yeoju Headquarters Temple and then held a meeting with President Yun Eundo. During the meeting, Chairman YuksaliSH remarked, “I had heard that Daesoon Jinrihoe is preparing to welcome a new world. When I entered the main gate of Daejin University, it felt as though I was stepping into that new world, leaving all worries, concerns, and stress outside.” He continued, “I have always believed that by learning and practicing propriety, one can welcome a new world, and this left a deep impression on me. If learning is not used for the benefit of others, even a nation can decline. The most important purpose of education is to learn etiquette and character, and in this respect, it aligns closely with the founding philosophy of Daejin University.” In response, President Yun Eundo stated, “We also recognize the importance of character education and have long been implementing character education programs at our affiliated high schools.” He added, “All religions ultimately seek the same outcome, and we should respect one another’s faiths while working together toward our shared goal of peace. I hope that the relationship formed through this visit will provide students from both countries with opportunities for broader learning.” According to Chairman YuksaliSH, Maktab Schools operate in all 12 provinces of Uzbekistan, including Samarkand Province and Tashkent Province, and Korean is taught as a second foreign language.

- Daesoon International Volunteer Association Receives Commendation from the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen Province
In April, the Daesoon International Volunteer Association (DIVA) received a commendation from the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam, in recognition of its contributions to volunteer activities in the region. A DIVA representative stated, “In a public works project in Thai Nguyen Province involving the demolition of temporary and aging houses and the construction of new homes, the project was completed eight months ahead of the deadline set by the Prime Minister of Vietnam. DIVA’s contributions to this achievement were formally recognized, which led to this commendation.” Since 2024, DIVA has been supporting the construction of new homes as part of one of Vietnam’s national poverty alleviation campaigns. The association is currently carrying out the “Sangsaeng House (House of Mutual Beneficence)” project, which provides newly built homes to vulnerable communities.

- Daejin Electronic and Telecommunications High School Conducts International Faculty Exchange with Japanese High School
On February 4, 11 teachers from Daejin Electronic and Telecommunications High School (Principal: Kim Jaehak) visited Sasebo Commercial High School in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, where they participated in a four-night, five-day international exchange program. This program marked a step forward from the student exchanges held in both countries in July and November of last year. As part of the initiative, subject-area teachers from Daejin Electronic and Telecommunications High School visited Sasebo Commercial High School to present and discuss specialized curricula, engaging in meaningful faculty-level exchanges focused on vocational education. Vice Principal Park Jeong-geun, who led the delegation, stated, “I hope this exchange will go beyond a one-time meeting and become an opportunity to build lasting cooperation and friendship.” He added, “Through this experience, I expect both students and teachers to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures and educational approaches, and to cultivate a broader global perspective and a spirit of collaboration suited to the global era.”
