  • Wrapping Event Takes Place for Daesoon Relief Items
The first campaign on the Daesoon relief items for feeding African children and providing the educational support took place at the auditorium in Sinchuk Hall in Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex on Jan. 16. About 100 odd members of Daesoonjinrihoe took part in the event. After Yang Hyeon-Suk from KVO had explained how to wrap the items, they started wrapping from the heart since the items would be delivered directly to the Kenyans suffering from the famine and poverty. The work included sorting out the relief items from clothing, stationery, general merchandise, kitchenware and appliances. Those goods were wrapped and put into big-sized boxes, which were brought up to the 3 containers having 892 boxes in total including 855 boxes of clothes, 9 boxes of stationery, and 28 the rest. As Chief Director Seongam Yun Eun-Do told Secretary General Yang that the relief could give hopes to the African children, she said she was surprised at so many items collected in such a short period of time, adding that the unity and devotion of Daesoonjinrihoe indeed impressed her. Furthermore, she promised to try her best to deliver our messages as well as devotion and hard work to the recipients. On that day, while our staff headed by Seongam Yun and KVO officials attended the event, the trailers left for the Busan Port to send the containers off to Africa.
