  • Daljip Burning Ceremony was Held to Celebrate the First Full Moon Day of the Gihae Year
    On January 15 (lunar calendar), Daljip Burning Ceremony was held to celebrate the First Full Moon day of the 2019 at Bambol village which is located next to the sport stadium of Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex. Along with the burning ceremony, more than 1,000 participants consisting of local citizens and Daesoon Jinrihoe members enjoyed numerous folk games and performances such as Kite flying, Jegi, Yut, and steamed rice pounding. In the food court, people could enjoy delicious foods such as Teokboggi, fish cakes, and Injeolmi rice cakes. In this event, people prayed and watched various performances such as Gilnori, Pangut, and Jisinbalgi which were performed by Daesoon Jinrihoe’s Pulmul.

  • Jisinbalgi (the treading of the earth gods) Event Held in Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation
    On February 18, 2019, Daejin International Volunteers Association’s Pulmul Team performed a Jisinbalgi event at Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation. It was held to celebrate the fifteenth day of the new year and to wish for wellbeing and a good harvest. They visited each location in the facility starting from the first floor of the B-Wing building, and they went on to perform in the combined offices, corporate offices, patients units, and daycare center. They received heartfelt welcome from the senior citizens in all buildings. The Jisinbalgi performance at the welfare foundation ended with a grand finale at Daejin Youth Center. Youth Center.

  • Pocheon’s First Subway Line to be Built Near Daejin University
    On January 29, 2019, the Subway Line 7 (Okjeong – Pochen) Extension Project, which was proposed by Pocheon City, has been selected as an exemption budget project for the balanced development of Korea after it was reviewed by the Presidential Committee for Balanced National Development and discussed in a Cabinet meeting. Previously, Park Yun-guk, the mayor of Pocheon city, and various civic organizations in Pocheon had been making the case regarding the need for a subway line in Pocheon while also publicizing the other hardships faced by the city. As the decision has been made to build a subway line in Pocheon, the city will no longer be the only city without subway in its metropolitan area and will now be able to reemerge as a new city that is connected via subway to other influential areas. Also, it is expected that when Pocheon subway line is built, the time to travel from Pocheon to Gangnam, Seoul will be shortened from 2.5 hours to 1 hour, and the city will create new city complexes in the influential areas near the subway. In particular, three universities in Pocheon, including Daejin University, and many working laborers in its industrial area will benefit from this improvement in railway service. The Dobongsan-Pocheon railway project will extend the subway line 7 to Yangju Okjeong area, Soheul eup, Daejin University, and Pocheon City Hall. The construction is planned to start in the second half of this year and achieve completion in 2024.

  • Daesoon Jinrihoe’s Participation in the 2018 Meeting of the Parliament of the World’s Religions
    From November 1 to 7, Director Lee Taeyeol of the Department of Religious Research and Edification and six other department members participated in the 2018 meeting of the ‘Parliament of the World's Religions.’ The theme of this year's meeting was ‘The Promise of Inclusion, the Power of Love: Pursuing Global Understanding, Reconciliation, and Change’ and focused on delivering a variety of messages for world peace and harmony brought by various religious orders and organizations from around the world. Daesoon Jinrihoe, together with Taiwan’s Weixin Shengjiao and Vietnam’s Caodaism, operated a booth at the exhibition under the banner "The Association of New East Asian Religions." The association likewise organized a session of presentations introducing the three religions that form the association. Daesoon Jinrihoe's was introduced by Professor Lee Gyungwon of Daejin University in a presentation on the "Resolution of Grievances for Mutual Beneficence (Haewon Sangsaeng)." As part of his presentation, Professor Lee screened Daesoon Jinrihoe’s updated promotional video, and it was extremely well-received by the audience.

  • 2018 the Second World Sangsaeng Forum
    In October 20-21, the second World Sangsaeng Forum was held at the central library of Daejin University. It was hosted by Daesoon Academy of Sciences of Daejin University and supported by Daesoon Jinrihoe Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex. On the theme “Towards an Earthly Paradise: The Future of Humanity in Religions and Daesoon Thought”, about 200 scholars and professionals of religions from 15 countries participated and spoke about the topic. On these days, there were various and in-depth discussions on earthly paradise including a presentation on Haewon Sangsaeng and Earthly Paradise of Daesoon thought, various views of earthly paradise in different religions, and comparison between Daesoon thought and other religions. One of participants said “It is amazing to see how many different religions and religious thoughts can interact, mutually understand, and discuss academically under the common theme.” Also, another participants said “I would like to thank and deliver my respect to Daesoon Jinrihoe and Daesoon Academy of Sciences for arranging such wonderful international conference.” After the conference, all participants visited Daesoon Jinrihoe Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex , paid respect at Yeongdae, and enjoyed banquet prepared by the temple. In his welcoming address, President Yoon Eun-do said “I expect this World Sangsaeng Forum will go beyond a field of academic exploration and develop into that of communication and friendship for many scholars from overseas.”
