A Ceremony Marking the 26th Anniversary of Daejin University
Daejin University held the 26th anniversary ceremony on May 11, 2018, at the International Conference Hall. In this event, the professors and faculty members who contributed to the school development were given the achievement awards and the continuous service awards, and for the excellent departments, they were awarded for the excellent education and the excellent research achievement. Lee Myeon Jae, the dean of Daejin University said in his address, “I am grateful to all the faculty members for putting so much effort for the last one year in the reformation work of education system, facilities, and administration to meet the criteria of the second term University Structural Reform Evaluation.” and added “I will do my best to make Daejin University the most satisfactory school for all members.”

Vietnamese Religious Committee visited Dasoon Jinrihoe Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex
On May 16, 2018, seven people from Vietnamese Religious Committee, including its vice president Tran Tan Hung, visited Yeoju headquarters temple complex. Their purpose of visit was to study the influence of Daesoon Jinrihoe’s overseas charity aid work and discuss the plan to proceed charity works that can be certified by Vietnamese government. The group toured around Bundang Jesaeng hospital, Daejin University, and Daejin Welfare foundation in May 15 to 17. During the meeting with the chairman of Daejin International Volunteers Association, the vice president Tran Tan Hung said, “I was moved when I saw how Daesoon Jinrihoe practice the social activities. I hope that this meeting become the starting point of our further cooperation to achieve many things.” Then, chairman Yoon Eun Ho responded, “Korea has once made improvement using the painful occasion of Vietnam. We would like to put every effort possible for Vietnamese overseas charity aid work in order to return the favor we owe to Vietnam.”

Rice Planting Event in Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex
On June 9, 2018, the day after the Headquarters Donation meeting at Yeoju headquarters temple complex, about 1,100 senior executives participated in the rice planting event, which was held in a rice field near the temple. They were divided in several teams to take charge of different areas for planting and planted rice in the field of 33㎡ from 6 am. to 8 pm. using the traditional way of hand rice planting. The rice planting is the first farm work of the year. In promoting the meaning of the phrase “Agriculture forms the basis of national existence”, many Daesoon Jinrihoe senior executives try to be an example by participating in the rice planting event every year.

Preparing Rice Seedling Plots in the Rice Fields of Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex
On April 18 2018 in a rice field within Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex near Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation, about 150 people including the guard team executives participated in the work of preparing rice seedling plots. In order to enable the germinated rice seeds to easily take roots in the soil, they first laid a net over the plots, placed a seedbed on it, and stepped onto the plot evenly. Then, they covered the plots with a non-woven fabric to facilitate warmth and finished their work as they prayed for an abundant harvest. The work of preparing rice seedling plots is the first step of yearly farming. Before preparing the plots, the seedbeds were arranged in seedling boxes and left for 4-5 days to allow the seeds to germinate. After the seeds have germinated, they are then sown into the seedling plots after which they grow into young rice plants within 40 days. This work of preparing seedling plots is regarded as the hardest and most important work of the year, as people say the work of growing of rice seedlings itself is half of yearly farming.

A Memorial Chiseong was Held to Commemorate the 60th Year of Doju’s Passing into Heaven.
At 1:00 AM on April 21 (March 6 on the lunar calendar) 2018, Daesoon Jinrihoe grandly held a Chiseong (Devotional Offering), attended by about 6,900 people, to commemorate the day of Doju’s passing into heaven. Doju recieved the heavenly mandate in 1909, and in 1917, he gained enlightened to Daesoon Truth and became a successor in the lineage of religious orthodoxy.In 1925, he founded Mugeukdo and established and implemented the methods of cultivation, ceremonial procedures, and other regulations. On April 24, 1958 (March 6 in the lunar calendar, at age 64), after completing the True Law with his 50 years of Gongbu, Doju bestowed the religious orthodoxy upon Dojeon and passed into heaven. The day of Doju’s passing has two important meanings: the completion the True Law and the succession of the lineage of religious orthodoxy. Accordingly, Daesoon Jinrihoe performs a Chiseong every year to commemorate this day.
