- Taiwan Taoists toured around Daesoon Jinrihoe and experienced its cultivation methods
From June 11 to 17, 2017, a group of 20 Taiwan Taoists including Master Lee You Kun(李游坤) from five Taiwan Taoist branches: Tian Yi Tao(正一道), Shàn Qín Cí Huì Tang(善琴慈惠堂), Bǐng Dōng Guānyīntáng(屛東觀音堂), Shèng Mǔ Gōng(聖母宮), and Lónghuá Dānxīn(龍華丹心) visited Daesoon Jinrihoe Yeoju headquarters temple complex. They performed Ipdo Chiseong(entrance ceremony) to experience themselves the whole cultivation methods of Daesoon Jinrihoe, such as (Tae-eulju mantra) prayer, paying respect at Yeongdae of headquarters temple, and listening to lectures that introduced the teachings of Daesoon Jinrihoe. Also, they toured around Daesoon Jinrihoe welfare facilities: Daejin Welfare Foundation, Bundang Jesaeng hospital, and Daejin University, which are the main sites for Daesoon Jinrihoe’s Three Major social activities. On June 14, in the meeting with Yoon Eun-Do, the chairman of Daesoon Jinrihoe Yeoju headquarters, they asked a lot of questions about cultivation methods of Daesoon Jinrihoe. Master Lee You Kun(李游坤), the president of Taiwan Daoism, asked Yoon by saying “In Taiwan Taoism, belief is more important than practice. I want to learn practical cultivation methods of Daesoon Jinriehoe.” Then chairman Yoon answered “Although I am the head of Daesoon Jinrihoe, I am not regarded as being in the highest position. It is important for us respect each other because we all are in our way of spiritual cultivation. We have to open our minds and communicate well with one another, and cultivate ourselves into Dao while we keep Three Essential Attitudes: Sincerity, Respectfulness, and Faithfulness.

- 2017 The 1st World Sangsaeng Forum hosted by DAOS, Daejin University
The 1st World Sangsaeng Forum was sponsored by Yeoju headquarters temple complex and organized and held by Daesoon Academy of Sciences(DAOS) of Dajin University on October 14 – 15, 2017 at Daejin University. It is the first international forum that is held by DAOS, and will be the beginning of other global academic conferences that DAOS plans to hold annually. On the theme “Peace and the Path of Mutual Beneficence”, about 150 scholars of religious studies and religious practitioners from 10 different nations participated in the forum to make it a place for active academic communication. The scholars who brought up various themes related to the theme in their presentations were: Bae Kyu-han(Chairman of Daesoon Academy of Sciences, Korea), Ko Nam-sik(Daejin University, Korea), Eileen Barker(London School of Economics, UK), Bernadette Rigal-Cellard(University of Bordeaux, France), Massimo Introvigne(Managing Director of CESNUR, Italy), Rosita Soryte(Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to UN), Milda Alisauskiene(Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania), Gorden Melton(Baylor University, USA), Patrick Laude(Georgetown University, USA), Holly Folk(Western Washington University, USA), Thien-Huong Ninh(California Polytechnic State University, USA), Edward Irons(Director of Hong Kong Institute for Culture, Commerce, and Religion, CANADA), Susan Palmer(Concordia University, USA), Hachiya Kunio(Tokyo University, Japan), Pochi Huang(National Chengchi University, Taiwan), and David Kim(Australian National University, Australia). The forum was held for two days from October 14 to 15 in six sessions and was followed by 4 days of field trip to Yeoju headquarters temple complex and other famous Korean traditional sites. Chairman Bae of DAOS said “This forum is the first international forum that is organized by DAOS and became a place for communication among the Eastern and Western scholars of religious studies. More importantly, it was a good opportunity to introduce Daesoon thought worldwide.”

- Making Kimchi for the winter at Yeoju headquarters temple
As an annual event that is held before or after the beginning of winter, about 300 employees of the temple and disciples worked in harmony for making Kimchi for the winter for 3 days from November 29 to December 1. On the first day, they drew out about 30,000 Korean cabbages from the farm, which is located near the temple, and salted and soaked them overnight. On the next day, they rinsed and drained the soaked cabbages, and on the last day on Dec. 1, made seasoning and put them in the cabbages. Kimchi is a main side dish in Korean diet. Making Kimchi in early winter is a Korean traditional custom to prepare for the winter when it becomes difficult get fresh vegetables.

- Heilongjiang University Foreign Language College principal and faculties visited Daesoon Jinrihoe
For two days on November 28-29, visitors from China Heilongjiang University Foreign Language College including madam Yuyeong, the principal of the college and Yu Hidang, the founder made tour to Yeoju Headquarters temple complex, Daesoon Jinrihoe welfare center, and the office of Daejin International Volunteers Association. They visited the order to discuss the ways for international exchange and cooperation on their work for social welfare and charity aid. After a meeting with chairman Yoon Eun-do of Daesoon Jinrihoe, they had time to learn Daesoon Jinrihoe through the schedule that included watching Daesoon Jinrihoe promotional video, visit to the temple complex, and tour around facilities of Daesoon Jinrihoe welfare center. As the Heilongjiang University Foreign Language College is known for a college that send the largest number of students to abroad for study, it is expected that the relationship between Daejin University and Heilongjiang University Foreign Language College will be expanding in various ways.

- After-school program Gilbeot finished successfully for the year
Gilbeot, meaning "accompanying friend in the way", is an after-school program in Yeoju city for elementary and middle school children of Daesoon Jinrihoe followers. It has finished its yearly program on November 25, 2017. Since the beginning day on March 28, 2017, about 33 students have participated in the program, in which they learned the teachings of Daesoon Jinrihoe and trained various social skills through many different experiencing activities. Among the edification programs, a story of Sangje(Supreme God) described in about 20 presentation papers drew a positive response from the children. The experiencing activities include making flower shoes with Korean traditional paper, archery, free activity, learning the ways how to live healthy, balloon volleyball, cooking, and magic. As there have been a lot of inquires of the program from branch temples, the organization team of Gilbeot is planing to share their programs with branch temples in 2018.
